Mr. T Raf and I (Nicola) are always excited to hear about a chef coming to town, a seasonal menu, or a restaurant opening, especially if it’s one of our favourite cuisines or chefs. So, what are the 3 Dining Concepts in Dubai we are eagerly waiting for?

TORNO SUBITO BY MASSIMO BOTTURA, W Dubai – The Palm

We’ve been in love with this chef since forever. Massimo most recently won The Best Restaurant in Europe, and came in second on the World’s 50 Best List for 2017 for his three-Michelin-star restaurant Osteria Francescana in Modena. Why we love him? He’s a true gentleman. During the Milan Expo 2015, he launched a Soup Kitchen for the homeless, and apart from operating his restaurants and TV appearances – you may recognize him from Season 2 of Master of None – he runs a culinary school (Il Tortellante) in Modena as a way of supporting young people with autism, and their families. See what we mean? Anyway, we will have to wait a few months to taste his creations here in Dubai, as the restaurant is scheduled to open later this year.

DAIKAN RAMEN AT LAKESHORE TOWER 1, JLT

They’ve been teasing us with videos and images of their stunning ramen bowls on Instagram (@dkndubai), with a promise of opening in the near future *fingers crossed*. Take a look at this bowl packed with colours, texture and character. You can tell the broth consistency is just right, with guaranteed umami flavours, and that perfectly-done boiled egg is absolute #BreakfastGoals. Let’s hope we can put it to the taste test soon.

MAREA, DIFC

This one is from the streets of New York. And yes, it’s Italian, and there may be one too many Italian restaurants in the city, but there’s always room for more – especially if done right. Back in NYC, the restaurant has two Michelin-stars. We hear the menu will boast plenty of seafood specialties – yaass!
